WELCOME! THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING SIMPLE LIFE FABRICS!

Terms & Conditions

Hardly anyone ever reads terms and conditions. This is a fact. I definitely don’t, and under normal circumstances, you probably don’t either.

So the fact that you’re here could mean you want more information about us, our products, service or delivery.

That’s why we’re making these terms and conditions as simple, informative and straightforward as we can.

Despite being at the very bottom of every e-commerce web page in 6-point font, terms and conditions are important and worth reading. They’re important because they define the standard legal contract between us that starts when you buy something from Simple Life Fabrics. So here we go…

Ours are based on standard industry terms and conditions and the use of our website means that you accept them:

Who is Simple Life Fabrics?

Simple Life Fabrics is a small family-run startup business founded in 2019 and operates online only; we do not have a brick-and-mortar store.

Simple Life Fabrics is a trading name of The Simple Life Group Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales.

Our company number is 12220281, we are no longer VAT registered, and our registered office address is:

1 Fuller Close,

 Shepton Mallet,

Somerset,

BA4 5PX

You can see our company registration details on the UK Government’s Companies House website:

Delivery

We aim to process your order same day or next day Monday-Friday.

We offer UK delivery by Royal Mail Tracked 24, Tracked 48 for all UK orders, or for weights around or over 5kg, for example if you buy 10 metres of curtain fabric, we may very occasionally decide to use DPD delivery.

While we want you to receive your products within a very maximum of 7 working days (usually 5 working days) of you placing your order we cannot guarantee that this will happen under every circumstance.

For example, we cannot control, or take any responsibility for, Royal Mail, any courier or the weather. However, in all circumstances we will try as hard as possible to stick to these delivery times.

Please be aware that we are not liable for items that go missing in the post and we do keep proof of postage for all deliveries. If you have concerns about your parcel please contact us. I can guarantee I will be both upset and mortified if your parcel has not arrived.

As a small business, it’s inevitable that occasionally we will take a break. When we do, we will ensure that we make this clear on the website so that you know before you place an order that it may not be delivered within the maximum of 7 working days.

Refunds

If you want to return a product and ask for a refund of the full amount you paid, including the shipping to your address, please contact us. We accept returns of products that have not been used, cut, washed or spoilt in some way. For example if your cat has sneaked into your sewing room and used it as bedding for a week then sadly we can’t refund your money!

Returns can only be considered and accepted if you contact us within 14 days of receiving the products, and in exceptional circumstances we reserve the right not to accept a return.

Unfortunately we cannot accept responsibility for return shipping, so while we can refund the cost of the product and the delivery charge you paid, we are not liable for the return cost or method of postage or packing back to us.

Refunds can only be credited to your account once we have received the products back. If an item you purchased was bought with a discount code or voucher, or in a sale, then we will only refund the amount that you actually paid, not the amount the item was listed for.

How can you contact us?

You can contact us at any time by email on sales@simplelifefabrics.co.uk. We aim to get back to you the same day.

We do not list a phone number for three reasons. First, we get an appalling mobile signal here, which drops out regularly and can sometimes only be weakly retrieved by waving the phone out of the upstairs bedroom window.

Secondly, we’re so busy that you’re unlikely to catch us on the landline, and finally, we can give you a far better and more complete answer to any question you might have via email; and clarity is very important to us.

How would we contact you?

If we need to contact you we will email in the first instance. But if the issue is urgent or we don’t get a reply to an email or think that maybe you’ve given us the wrong email address, we might ring you. We will try hard to reach you by any method if it’s important.

The contract or basis of sale

When you place an order for any of the products for sale on the Simple Life Fabrics website you accept that your order is subject to availability and confirmation of the total order price.

This means, for example, that if the fabric or accessory has sold out or we have less in stock than we thought, we will notify you, offer to reduce the price if you still want the lesser amount we have in stock, refund your money or ask you if you would like a substitute product.

Simple Life Fabrics will always try to accommodate any requests about our products, however we can only ever sell fabrics in half metre or metre-multiple lengths; we cannot sell you smaller quantities such as fat quarters. Unfortunately, we also cannot send fabric samples.

We aim to be 100-per-cent accurate in our descriptions, and try very hard to ensure you have all the information you need to make an informed choice about what to buy. However, we are human and do occasionally make mistakes. Plus not all suppliers give us every piece of information we would want about a fabric or product. For example, they don't always specify complete washing instructions or fabric weights. The information we give is therefore advisory only.

When you place an order and fill in your personal details on our website you accept responsibility for the accuracy of these details. For example, if you enter the wrong address your products may not be delivered and you accept this risk.

All the prices on the Simple Life Fabrics site are subject to change at any time. This is primarily because we source the majority of our products from outside the UK and currency-exchange rates do fluctuate.

The entire copyright of the photographs on this website (except where stated or the photograph is identifiably the copyright of the manufacturer/contains no 'Simple Life Fabrics' watermark) is retained by The Simple Life Group Ltd at all times throughout the world.

The photographs on the Simple Life Fabrics website are as accurate a representation of our products as possible, taken by a professional commercial photographer, who is also the co-owner of The Simple Life Group Ltd.

However, unless you have a colour-balanced monitor, your computer or mobile device may display colours slightly differently. We cannot be held responsible for these variations. So if you thought it was a darker green or a paler pink, then it’s probably down to the way your monitor displays colours.

At the checkout stage, or before, you may decide to agree to sign up to let us email you marketing materials such as a newsletter or information about new products or discounts/sales. If you decide you don’t want to receive these emails at any time please contact us (or click any relevant unsubscribe buttons on the email you receive) and we will stop sending them to you straight away.
