Wonderful and unusual stretch pique jersey fabric with a big colourful leaf print on a denim blue, verging to teal, background by the iconic German designer-fabric brand, Swafing - so soft and lovely!    

Pique fabric is basically a tighter-weave, less textured, more refined version of what, in the 1970s and 80s, we used to call Aertex in my home-county of Lancashire. It's the fabric of the school-gym top or old-style polo shirt, but an updated, modern version. This is a stretch pique jersey so it's slightly lighter weight than traditional jersey, has a higher percentage of cotton, and is very soft and very breathable - brilliant for hot weather. It has great stretch in both directions. 

It's Oeko-Tex Standard certified, so it's free from harmful substances. Perfect for all kinds of clothing including dresses, tops, tunics, t-shirts, leggings, PJs and much more for both children and adults. 

Composition: 97% Cotton, 3% elastane 

Care: Machine wash at 30 degrees centigrade. Do not tumble dry. Cool iron. Can be dry cleaned.

Width: 160cm

Weight: 170 g/m2 

As ever, it's always best to wash any fabric, regardless of composition or type, before sewing to account for any shrinkage.
